
John Reilly
John Reilly is a resident of Newry, Maine. A natural resource and environmental economist, he has spent 45 years investigating the economics of global environmental change within the National Laboratory system, the US Department of Agriculture, and for the last 27 years, on the faculty of MIT. In stepping down from leading a research program on climate change at MIT, he moved to Maine and serves as a volunteer in Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation and the MLT’s Habitat for All garden.
He’s involved in Western Mountains Senior College, offering a cooking course featuring the use of wild plants and leading the Senior Players theater group as well as working as a ski instructor at Sunday River Resort. He enjoys painting, especially focusing on capturing the beauty of Maine. His career and retirement interests combine to create a deep interest in conserving our natural resources so that we and future generations can enjoy them.
