MAHOOSUC LAND TRUST

Intervale Gateway

A gravel footpath borders an 18-acre field that provides a scenic entry into Bethel Village. The Gateway trail connects to the Bethel Pathway and ends at MLT’s Valentine Farm Conservation Center. Total one-way distance approximately 2.5 miles.

How to get there

On the right side of Rt 26 as you head toward Bethel Village. Parking is available at the adjacent Davis Park.

Habitat Management

Read about our first steps of a Habitat Management plan to attempt the control of the non-native and invasive Common Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare), and restore an old field environment on the Gateway preserve, that includes goldenrods, asters, and milkweed.

How this place became open to the public

The Gateway Preserve was purchased in September 1995.
