We offer a diversity of programs for all ages including nature and bird walks, online webinars, hands-on workshops, three major Festivals - Winterfest, the Monarch Festival, and the Homegrown Food Festival - and more!
-
The 1/4-acre Habitat For All Garden at Valentine Farm provides ample learning opportunities to see and experience a landscape that supports birds, pollinators, and us.
-
Host school groups and garden clubs, and provide space for Telstar Middle School's Abanaki Food Project.
-
Participate in Citizen Science projects. Amature enthusiasts observed 136 bird species & 145 insect species at Valentine Farm!
And your support makes it all possible!
The Ken Hotopp Wildlands Fund
-
In 2021, after a generous initial gift by Ken and Marion Hotopp in memory of their son, Ken, and the enthusiastic support from friends and family that ensued, the Ken Hotopp Wildlands Fund was created to honor Ken and his passionate advocacy that lands be left in their natural state without human intervention or management for future generations.
-
Since its creation, there has been an outpouring of support for the Fund, which resulted in the purchase of the Flint Mountain Wildlands in Albany Township, ME in 2022.
-
Flint Mountain Wildlands has been open for public use since the end of 2024. The 1.1-mile "Rapa Nui" trail, named for the unmistakable stone head overlooking all who wander, is a walk beneath the red oaks, surrounded by imposing boulders, and ultimately a view southward at the summit of the beautiful Chalk Pond.
