Have you ever heard duck-like calls in the April woods near big puddles? Have you ever seen a Fairy Shrimp? Spend the evening with naturalist Dan Gardoqui learning about the amazing life forms vernal pools host and support. From spotted salamanders to Barred Owls, wildlife rely on vernal pools each spring, summer, and fall. Learn how to help document vernal pool critters via the "Maine Big Night" as well.
Part of recreating on this land means protecting it too. Before heading out on any adventure on conserved trails or boat launches, familiarize yourself with land usage etiquette and rules.
