THE FOLLOWING SAMPLE PROVISIONS MAY BE HELPFUL FOR YOUR ATTORNEY IN PREPARING A WILL OR CODICIL:

 

SPECIFIC GIFT LANGUAGE (NAMING MLT AS A BENEFICIARY OF A SPECIFIC AMOUNT FROM YOUR ESTATE)

I give, bequeath and devise to Mahoosuc Land Trust, a nonprofit corporation having its headquarters in Bethel, Maine, the sum of $ _________ (or ____ percent of my estate) to be used for its general purposes (or describe a particular program or project of the land trust).

 

RESIDUAL GIFT LANGUAGE (A RESIDUAL BEQUEST COMES TO MLT AFTER YOUR ESTATE EXPENSES AND SPECIFIC BEQUESTS ARE PAID)

I give, bequeath and devise all (or ____ percent) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to Mahoosuc Land Trust, a nonprofit corporation having its headquarters in Bethel, Maine, to be used for its general purposes (or describe a particular program or project of the land trust).
