About The Event
Everyone is invited to join Mahoosuc Land Trust, the Shelburne Trails Club and The
Conservation Fund on Sunday, November 5 at 10:00 for a celebration of a newly completed 3 mile hiking
trail network on the Shelburne Riverlands State Line Forest. The Riverlands, acquired by MLT in
2021, is a spectacular section of riverfront land and islands in Shelburne totaling 880 acres and
includes 14 miles of river frontage on the Androscoggin River. The trail network provides options for loops
of 1 to 3 miles in length for hikers, back-country skiers, and snowshoe hikers.
Join us for coffee and pastries at the Shelburne, NH Town Hall at 10:00 for a short
presentation on the Riverlands that includes a brief description of the individual properties and
MLT’s management strategies developed by local Shelburne stewards. We will then drive to the
trail-head for led hikes of different lengths starting about 11 AM. The famous Shelburne Trail
llamas, Nikki and Kate, will lead one of the hikes and children are welcome to help with
wrangling the llamas.
